The stunning footage includes rare archive of pipers in 1899 and the last piper to play in battle during World War One. This film is now used by serious students of Celtic history and music. Instrument of War - Part 1 Video
This film charts the history of the bagpipes as a weapon of war from Roman times to the 'brave heart' days of William Wallace, and from Bonnie Prince Charlie to the siege of the Alamo. In World War One the fierce kilted Highlanders were known as the 'Ladies from Hell' and 98 year old Harry Lunan is the last surviving piper to have led a suicidal charge into the enemy trenches playing his pipes. 54 minutes.
